A Colby Welcome! Democracy Fest, Sept 20
Thomas Co Democrats are eager to host Democrats from around Kansas for the first ever "Democracy Fest" regional celebration.
COLBY SHINES
The Colby Democracy Fest Luncheon will be held on Saturday, Sept 20 from 12 noon to 4 pm at the City Limits Convention Center, 2227 S Range Ave in Colby. The luncheon is sponsored by the Kansas Democratic Party and will feature state and local candidates and opportunity for fellowship.
Attendance is free (donations welcomed), but pre-registration is mandatory - visit KDP website for Colby Registration.
For travelers arriving Friday, Sept 19, Thomas County Dems are hosting a Yogurt Parfait Party at the Lon Frahm Ag Center at the Colby Community College in Colby. The Party will run from 6-8 pm Friday.
And for those that want to rise-and-shine early Saturday, Sept 20, there are several local Ag Tours planned. Reserve by emailing tcd-friends@ksfuture.com. You can choose One of the following:
Frahm Farmland Tour. See one of the largest family farm operations in the state of Kansas.
Western Plains Energy’s Ethanol plant. Key market for area farmers, in Oakley
McCarty Dairy Judy McCarty Dairy Learning Center in Rexford, KS
Rumor has it that there may be a weiner roast on Saturday evening for those that can stay a little longer - hosted by a local farm family and the Food and Farm Caucus of Kansas Democrats. Details to be shared with those that attend the luncheon.
DODGE CITY AND HAYS NEXT
Colby is just the first of three Democracy Fests scheduled by the Kansas Democrats this fall. Leaders and active voters are traveling all over the state to our fellow Kansas Democrats where they are, build up our local Democratic groups, and prepare for the next elections.
The other two gatherings planned for 2025 will be held in Dodge City and Hays:
