Meet Candidates Series in Kingman
Kingman County Dems have begun a 2026 series of “Meet the Candidates” events to give local Democrats a chance to meet potential Democratic nominees for various offices. The first gathering was held with Chris Carmichael, one of the Democratic candidates running for US Congress, District 4. The gathering was held on March 15th at 5:30 pm at The Hangar in Kingman, 126 N Main Street.
Carmichael, a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Kansas’s 4th District—currently held by Ron Estes—brings 31 years of service as an Air Force colonel, following earlier service in the Army. During the discussion, he emphasized his commitment to putting Kansans first, stating that he would vote based on what is best for the people of Kansas rather than strictly along party lines.
He spoke about supporting Kansas family farms and small businesses, and addressed questions on topics including term limits, education, and expanded support for veterans. Carmichael also shared his views on sensible gun reform, emphasizing the importance of protecting Second Amendment rights while supporting responsible measures such as training for gun owners.
He underscored the value of listening to Kansans, noting that open conversations help shape the priorities he would advocate for in Congress.
This event and others being planned are held for the benefit of our local Democrats. The Kingman County Democratic Party does not provide endorsements to any candidate. Voters are encouraged to make their own informed decision. This is not a fundraiser or campaign rally. [NOTE: This post was revised after the meeting to provide a summary]
