The speaker will be Sherman Smith, the editor in chief of Kansas Reflector, which he founded in 2020. Smith is a three-time Kansas Press Association journalist of the year. Also speaking will be Tim Carpenter, a Reflector staff member and recent Kansas Newspaper Hall of Fame inductee, who has reported on Kansas for 35 years. He covered the Capitol for 16 years at the Topeka Capital-Journal and previously worked for the Lawrence Journal World and United Press International.
