Kylie Kilmer @ Food and Farm, Washington Days

The Food and Farm Caucus will hear from Kylie Kilmer on the topic "Gaining Confidence & Strategies to Run as a Rural Democrat."

Kylie will address us at the annual Food and Farm Caucus meeting to be held at 9:05 am on Saturday, March 7 in the Sunflower Room during Washington Days.

We will be following the Rural Caucus which meets at 8 am in the same room. Washington Days is the state's annual Democratic Convention, being held at a new venue, The Townsite! in Topeka (address 534 S Kansas Ave, Topeka, KS 66603)

Kylie Kilmer is a Democrat running for Kansas HD 70, which covers Dickinson County and parts of Marion and McPherson counties. A native of Herington and a full time teacher, mother, and advocate, Kilmer decided now was the time to offer a choice. “District 70 is a deep red district, but not all of our residents believe in the current administration’s tactics. Politics are so divided right now, and more than ever, we need Democrats to step up to the plate and say this is not okay," said Kylie in her campaign announcement last September.

Kylie has embraced the authentic, adaptive grass roots campaign approach outlined in the book "Dirt Road Revivial." For more information, visit Kylie on Facebook, her website, or other social media.

We anticipate a host of statewide and local candidates will drop in for a quick hello. The Caucus will also discuss our 2026 plans to support candidates and make an impact on rural organizing. There will be a short formal business meeting to present reports.

Dues for the Caucus are $20/year, please renew or join now.

Ice Cream Social: We welcome Democrats attending Washington Days to also visit our Ice Cream Social table, being sponsored in conjunction with our friends at the Progressive Caucus of Kansas Democrats. The ice cream social will be hosted as part of Hospitality Tables on Friday evening March 6. Doors open at 6 pm.

NOTE: Ice Cream financial sponsors and volunteers welcomed! To volunteer, Contact Us. To help fund the outreach, please consider a general donation to the Caucus via ActBlue - One Scoop sponsors $100, Two Scoop $200, or "Toppings" for whatever you wish)

Also,

  • Join us in the "Make your Own Protest Sign" activity at our informational table throughout the Convention period.

  • We will also have a limited number of the new "Still Fed Up, Real Kansans Don't Buy Judges" signs you have seen on social media. Our Caucus is just one of groups assisting PUSH PAC in promoting availability of these yard signs state-wide. (Contact Us for more info)

  • For a quick recap of our Caucus Activities in 2025, please see our year-end report "Reflections" on Harvest Blue. With your help, we will continue to do good things in 2026.

  • Democrats who have not yet registered for Washington Days are encouraged to finalize their arrangements right away as we expect a full house on this impactful year. There is no charge to attend Caucus meetings but attendees are asked to register. Paid tickets are needed for those wishing the Saturday luncheon or banquet.
