Celebrate the 4th in Western Kansas

The 250th anniversary of our nation is just a few short weeks away. While the celebrations in D.C. get most of the spotlight, we wanted to give a shout out to a few celebrations happening right here in western Kansas.

Hays

‍Hays will feature a multi-day event of featuring concerts, a parade, a carnival, and a fireworks show. All concerts and the fireworks display will be held at Hays Municipal Park. Tickets for a three-day pass to all concerts are available for $35 per person.  Concerts run through July 1st to 3rd with fireworks on the 4th. Details at https://wildwestfestival.com/

Dodge City ‍

Dodge City will be hosting a Cowboy themed celebration at the Boot Hill museum that includes fun activities for the whole family.  Activities have included ice cream socials, live cancan dancing, a gunfight reenactment, and a live performance by the Dodge City Cowboy Band. Russell

‍Russell features a two-day festival on July 3rd and 4th including the Dynamite Dash, a house decorating concern, street block party and screening of Shrek on main street on the 3rd; followed by a parade and float contest, community BBQ, duck race, cake walk, community bingo and fireworks finale on the 4th. ‍Goodland

Goodland will hold 4th of July Freedom Festival at the Sherman County Fairgrounds on July 4th – with a carnival, food court, music and fireworks.  More info at https://www.goodlandfreedomfestival.com/

‍Glen Elder

Glen Elder is holding a day long festival out at Waconda Lake, featuring music, food, souvenirs, a raffle, fun games, and a fireworks display. ‍Liberal

‍Last but not least we have a day full of fun to be had in Liberal Kansas The celebration kicks off with the Independence Day Parade, followed by a full day of activities at Light Park.  In the evening Liberal will feature the Bee Jay’s annual baseball game at the Brent Gould Field and then fireworks.
